Getting the angle wrong by even a small margin shows up as a visible gap along the top, so the frame was templated directly off the window to match the exact pitch of the rake. Once that template was confirmed, the shutter panels and surrounding frame were built to follow the same line, rather than squaring off the top and losing part of the glass.
